Shred the Secrets Keymaster Badge Guide: Room 3 Key

Shred the Secrets Keymaster badge guide: the Room 3 key hides in the cabinets and lockers — sweep every drawer, then open the side door. Stats and screenshots.

Last updated: 2026-09-11

Quick answer

Keymaster is a collectible badge in Shred the Secrets with one official task: "Find the key in Room 3." Roblox badge API data (checked September 2026) shows a 19.3% earn rate with 284,213 players awarded. The recorded chain: Room 3 is the filing-cabinet floor, and paper stacks bury the furniture — clear them, then open every drawer and locker, including the easy-to-miss tall ones along the walls. Most drawers come up empty or hold nothing but paper; one yields the glowing yellow Room 3 key, and the game immediately tells you to find where it goes. The key belongs to the paper-blocked side door where the Sketchy Coworker waits — but the badge itself is the find, not the door. Full stats live in the badge database.

How to get the Keymaster badge

  1. 1

Reach Room 3 — the filing-cabinet floor. Paper towers fill the room and bury the furniture, so the cabinets you need are invisible until you clear the stacks around them.

  2. 2

Open every drawer you can reach. Most come up empty or hold only paper — and opening cabinets still counts toward the Nosy Coworker counter, so nothing is wasted. Work along the walls so nothing gets skipped.

  3. 3

Include the tall lockers and wall cabinets. They are the easy-to-miss ones — the badge's own description points at Room 3's lockers as a hiding spot, and the source recording sweeps them right after the desk drawers (17:29).

  4. 4

Grab the glowing yellow key. In the September 2026 source recording it lies in an open drawer under the wall cabinets (17:08). The exact spawn is community-reported and unverified — recordings disagree on which piece of furniture yields it — so treat any fixed spot as a lead, not a coordinate.

  5. 5

The find is the badge. The official task is only "Find the key in Room 3", so picking the key up is what earns Keymaster. The game's own hint appears right after pickup: "I need to find where this key goes." None of the recordings we checked catches the Keymaster toast on screen, so the exact moment it fires is unverified.

  6. 6

Use the key on the paper-blocked side door. It opens into a shelf-lined side area where the Sketchy Coworker waits (17:46). One recording reports the key is consumed on use — single-source and unverified — so don't count on keeping it.

What the key unlocks: the side door and the Sketchy Coworker

The key's destination is the locked side door hidden behind paper in Room 3. Opening it leads into a small storage area lined with shelves and orange boxes — and to the Sketchy Coworker, who shushes you ("Shh... they're listening") and asks you to bring back his forgotten phone. That phone hunt is its own quest with its own reward — the item notes live at /items#sketchy-coworker-phone — but none of it is required for Keymaster: the official task ends at the key itself. What stays open: whether the key is consumed when it opens the door comes from a single recording and is unverified; whether the key can despawn if left ungrabbed is UNKNOWN; and the exact drawer that yields it per run is unverified.

Sources & data notes

Badge stats (19.3% earn rate, 284,213 awarded) come from the Roblox badges API snapshot in our badge database, checked September 2026. The screenshots on this page come from one recording: HaYoGo, OH NO!! Shred 1000 Secret Documents & All Endings (checked September 2026) — a four-player squad run on the earlier 8-room build (the room counter reads ROOM 3/8); the key hunt itself matches the current game, whose official description still pins the key to Room 3. Every caption carries the source timestamp: arrival 15:50, paper clearing 16:42, empty drawer 17:00, key in the drawer 17:08, the on-screen "I need to find where this key goes" hint 17:10, the paper-filled drawers and wall lockers 17:29, the key at the side door 17:40, the opened door 17:46, the Sketchy Coworker 17:50. A solo run cross-checks the same beat: MoreNizarisaqt, Roblox SHRED THE SECRETS… (also the earlier 8-room build; he opens Room 3's drawers, picks up the key and gets the same "You need to find where this key goes" hint before meeting the coworker — his video carries a facecam, so we used it as a fact source only, no screenshots). The key-consumption note is single-source: MR CRIBZ ROBLOX, SHREDDING all the SECRETS of Roblox... — treat it as unverified. Still UNKNOWN: the key's exact spawn per run, whether the Keymaster toast fires at the pickup, and whether the key can despawn.
