Shred the Secrets Ending 2 Walkthrough: Dark Secrets Badge

Shred the Secrets Ending 2 walkthrough: sweep Room 6, take the crowbar, pry the planks, brew the basement espresso and press the red button for Dark Secrets.

Last updated: 2026-09-13

Quick answer

Ending 2 — "Dark Secrets" is the story route of Shred the Secrets: instead of bolting with the golden grocery-list document, you dig into what the company is actually hiding. The official badge description says only "Complete Ending 2." Per the Roblox badges API snapshot in our badge database (checked August 2026), the Dark Secrets badge sits at a 4.3% earn rate with 95,758 players awarded — a genuinely rare ending. The recorded chain: sweep the cobwebs out of Room 6, pick up the sparkling crowbar by the upgrade counter, pry every plank off the boarded door (that is the Intruder badge too), head down into the basement, brew the espresso (2 minutes) and drink it for a shredding-speed burst, ride the elevator up with everyone aboard, then cross the under renovation office and press the big red button to trigger the reveal: the company dosed the coffee to force overtime, and your shredding helped bury it. Every step below is illustrated with frames from an August 2026 solo run of the current 12-room build. The other branches: Ending 1 and Ending 3, short version on endings; what each floor holds: rooms.

How to complete Ending 2 (Dark Secrets)

  1. 1

Clear the cobwebs out of Room 6 first. The floor is strung with white cobwebs that slow you down, and the game spells out the fix in chat: "Use the broom to remove the cobwebs!" Sweep them as you clear the room — sweeping 20 cobwebs across a run also earns the Housekeeping badge (11.4% earn rate).

  2. 2

Pick up the sparkling crowbar. In the August 2026 recording it stands upright against the wall right beside the Room 6 upgrade counter, with white sparkle particles and a Take Crowbar prompt you can spot from across the room. You cannot open the basement without it. Its exact spawn spot per run is unverified and version-dependent — pre-update runs found it glowing between the paper stacks instead.

  3. 3

Swing the crowbar until every plank comes off the boarded-up door. The doorway waits past the dark corner of Room 6, each plank takes a hit ("Click to swing"), and clearing all of them also earns the Intruder badge (6.0%).

  4. 4

Head down the dark stairwell. The room counter disappears and the corner label simply reads BASEMENT — the game even narrates the mood with "This feels spooky." There is no paper down here, just more cobwebs to sweep.

  5. 5

Take the espresso machine and brew a pot. The game walks you through it: "You grabbed the coffee machine. Find a counter marked for it and set it down," then "Brewing: A fresh pot in two minutes." The machine is portable — the recording carries it from room to room — so set it down, keep shredding while the two-minute timer runs, and collect the pot when it is ready.

  6. 6

Drink the coffee for the Caffeinated burst. The prompt is explicit: "Drink it for a burst of shredding speed" — faster shredding for 1 minute. The machine rebrews on its own, so you can chain cups and carry the buff into the next rooms. The buff is comfort, not a requirement.

  7. 7

Call the elevator and get everyone in. The panel by the stairs shows a green up arrow and a red down arrow, and the game insists that everyone needs to get in. Riding it out of the basement is what earns the Joy Ride badge (9.1%) — documented for a full four-player squad; whether a solo ride earns it too is unverified in our sources.

  8. 8

Cross the "under renovation" office and press the big red button. The elevator opens into Room 7, an office under an UNDER RENOVATION banner with paint splatters on the walls; the run continues into ROOM 8/12, where WARNING markings cover the floor and the red button waits on the wall above a desk. Pressing it triggers the Ending 2 reveal. Leaving it alone does not block the run — the source recording skips it and pushes on toward Ending 3.

What happens when you press the button

Per the playthroughs this chain is built on, pressing the button ends the run with the Ending 2 reveal: the company was dosing the office coffee with custom sweeteners to force longer shifts, and every document you shredded helped bury the evidence — the earlier-build footage spells it out on an evidence board labelled Project X-7. Completing the route awards the Dark Secrets (Ending 2) badge. What the August 2026 recording adds is a useful negative: the button is optional. Its creator leaves it untouched, carries the espresso machine on through the attic and finishes the run on Ending 3 instead — one save can steer into either finale, and Ending 1 branches even earlier at the hidden-buttons room. What stays UNKNOWN: no recording we checked captures the Dark Secrets toast at the button-press moment; whether the reveal plays out identically on the current 12-room build (the route registry marks that beat video-reported from earlier footage); and how the award behaves in a run that has already seen another ending. One squad bonus worth planning for: finishing Ending 2 with all 4 players aboard also earns Perfect Attendance, the rarest badge in our database (0.2%, 5,735 awards). Sources & data notes

Badge stats (4.3% earn rate, 95,758 awarded for Dark Secrets; 0.2% and 5,735 for Perfect Attendance; 6.0% Intruder; 9.1% Joy Ride; 11.4% Housekeeping) come from the Roblox badges API snapshot in our badge database, fetched August 18, 2026. The primary recording for this page is InterndotBlox, I Shredded EVERY Paper in Roblox Shred the Secrets (August 2026; every caption on this page carries its source timestamp): a solo run of the current 12-room build — the creator notes on camera that the room counter jumped from 8 to 12 — covering the Room 6 upgrade counter (11:58) and cobwebs with the broom hint (11:52), the sparkling crowbar (12:42), the planked basement door (14:54), the spooky stairwell (14:40), the espresso machine toast (15:20) and two-minute brew (15:24), the drink prompt (15:46), the elevator panel (17:24), the UNDER RENOVATION office (18:12) and the red button left unpressed in ROOM 8/12 (24:24). The chain it walks matches the route documented by Bax, I Can't Leave until I SHRED EVERYTHING — crowbar, basement, coffee, elevator, reveal; the Project X-7 evidence-board detail comes from that earlier-build footage — with the elevator step cross-checked in a four-player run by HaYoGo, Shred 1000 Secret Documents & All Endings; both are already credited on the all-endings guide. Because the primary recording deliberately skips the button, no frame on this page shows the reveal, and the exact moment the Dark Secrets award fires remains UNKNOWN — as do the crowbar's exact spawn point per run, whether a solo elevator ride earns Joy Ride, and how the reveal plays on the current build (the route registry marks that beat video-reported).
