Shred the Secrets Ending 3 Badge: Whistleblower Vault Guide
How to earn the Whistleblower (Ending 3) badge in Shred the Secrets: Room 9 ladder, Mad Scientist quest, Mesa Corp and the Room 12 vault dial, frame by frame.
Last updated: 2026-09-17
Quick answer
The Whistleblower (Ending 3) badge is Shred the Secrets' rarest ending award — official description "Complete Ending 3." — sitting at a 4.3% earn rate with 26,859 players awarded in our badge database snapshot (checked 2026-08-18). The badge shipped with the July 30 [ENDING 3] update that stretched the run from 8 to 12 rooms. The route in badge terms: clear into the post-update wing (Room 8 onward — money goals as high as $5,000,000 and ~52 documents per room, per our rooms reference), repair the broken ladder in Room 9 to open the attic, take the Mad Scientist's blueprint quest (it pays its own Industrial Revolution badge), push through the Room 10 testing lab and the Mesa Corp offices, then crack the Room 12 bank vault — the dial counts TURN 1/4 up to TURN 4/4, and the room's notes give each turn's order (number) and direction (arrow); there is no fixed code. Open vault = badge toast, the boss's whiteboard to-do list and the OVERVIEW - ENDING 3 screen. The vault puzzle's own step-by-step lives on the Ending 3 guide; the other routes: Ending 1, Ending 2, endings hub.
The badge route, step by step
- 1
Clear into the post-update wing — the badge route starts at Room 8. The July 30 [ENDING 3] update stretched the run from 8 to 12 rooms (rooms reference). From Room 8 on, every floor packs around 52 documents into towering paper stacks and posts money goals as high as $5,000,000 — this recording's Room 8 bar reads $202,280 of $5,000,000. The loop itself does not change: shred, vacuum, re-buy your upgrades, just heavier.
- 2
Repair the broken ladder in Room 9 to open the attic. Room 9 is the green-lit floor with the yellow catwalk; a broken ladder hangs above it, and the game nudges you with "I can easily fix this ladder, right?" Gather the missing ladder parts scattered around the room and repair it — the game announces "The attic has been opened." The parts count is not fixed: this recording's run collected five. What is behind the attic is exactly where the quest NPC waits.
- 3
Take the Mad Scientist's blueprint quest. Up in the attic, an NPC in a lab coat waits under a chalkboard reading PROJECT: CAFFEINE. His quest: recover the blueprints he needs from the rooms below and bring them back — this run spread them between the attic and Room 10. Completing it awards the Industrial Revolution badge (a 2.7% earn rate, 17,916 awarded in our badge database, checked September 2026) plus the Handheld Shredder; the full quest breakdown lives on the Industrial Revolution page. The quest is not a documented gate for Ending 3, but the recorded runs take it — and the handheld shredder shreds where you stand, which pays for the $5M goals.
- 4
Push through Room 10's testing lab and Room 11's Mesa Corp offices. Room 10 is the dark lab swept by red alarm lights; Room 11 drops the company's name — the wall reads MESA CORP, "THERE'S ALWAYS MORE WORK!" — and your character finally connects the dots: "Mesa Corporation..? I thought I was working for an accounting firm!" Keep the loop moving until Room 12, a boardroom with a bank vault in it.
- 5
Find the vault behind the paper stacks and read the notes. The vault wheel hides behind a tower of paper in Room 12 — clear the room, then hunt down the orange notes pinned around it. Each note encodes one turn of the combination: the number is the order of the turn, and the arrow is the direction to turn. There is no fixed code — the combination changes every run, so read your own room's notes instead of copying a video. The dial's own step-by-step belongs to the Ending 3 guide.
- 6
Play the dial minigame: TURN 1/4 to TURN 4/4. Interact with the vault and the UI counts your four turns on screen; the arrows turn the wheel, and SPACE backs out if you lose count. Commit all four turns in the order and direction your notes gave, and the door swings open.
- 7
Take the reward: toast, whiteboard, OVERVIEW - ENDING 3. The open vault shows deposit-box walls and stacks of cash, and the Badge Awarded toast lands: "Whistleblower (Ending 3)". The ending then plays the boss's whiteboard to-do list — "TAKE CARE OF THE ROGUE SCIENTIST… THE SUIT PEOPLE SCARE ME… INSTRUCT ALL EMPLOYEES TO NOT GO INTO THE NEXT ROOM" — and closes on the results screen; the toast and OVERVIEW frames on this page come from Mediastic's solo run, which escaped in 01:13:00 with 252 paperclips. Ending 3 is one of three finales — the other two: Ending 1 and Ending 2; how they branch: all endings guide.

Sources & data notes
Route facts come from repository data (rooms, endings, route planner) cross-checked against one primary recording: Risael, TODOS los FINALES de Shred The Secrets Roblox (uploaded 2026-08-07 on the current 12-room build, after the August [SAVING] solo-save updates; Spanish commentary — the full transcript was read, every caption on this page carries its source timestamp, and deep links use ?t= seconds): the Room 8 $5,000,000 bar and the ~52-document counters (?t=350), the broken ladder with the "I can easily fix this" line (?t=404), "The attic has been opened" over the attic stairs (?t=422), the Mad Scientist's reward line under the PROJECT: CAFFEINE board (?t=440), a blueprint with its Collect prompt in Room 10 (?t=434), the MESA CORP welcome wall (?t=476), the vault behind the paper stack (?t=484), the dial at TURN 1/4 (?t=490), a numbered note with its direction arrow (?t=495), the opened vault's deposit boxes and cash (?t=536), and the transcript's own facts: this run collected five ladder parts, the blueprints spread between the attic and Room 10, the notes' positions change between runs, and the player warns not to chase the money goal. One reward-moment frame comes from Mediastic, Shred the Secrets: Ending 3 + New Rooms! (uploaded 2026-08-01, also the current 12-room build): the "Whistleblower (Ending 3)" Badge Awarded toast (?t=543) — a second distinct from the frames /the-cake-is-a-lie (t=246/276/302) and the Ending 3 guide (t=27 through t=573) already took from that recording, and the vault puzzle's step-by-step stays canonical there rather than here. Badge stats (4.3% earn rate, 26,859 awarded, checked 2026-08-18; Industrial Revolution 2.7%, 17,916, checked September 2026) come from the Roblox badges API snapshots in our badge database. Three candidates were watched and dropped as frame sources: Mediastic itself carries no English captions, so its transcript gate failed (it stays a fact cross-reference); Phantom's dedicated how-to (Qz8Sm4mor4k) overlays burned step subtitles on every frame — it is credited for cross-checking the vault combination rule on the Ending 3 guide; and RottenEggFarts' clip (6D22l9LUeZY, 46 seconds) has no captions and cannot cover the route. Still UNKNOWN: whether the attic must be opened for the run to progress, the fixed ladder-parts count (it varies — this recording needed five), and whether the notes' four positions are fixed spots or shuffle between runs (this recording found three notes and guessed the fourth).
