Shred the Secrets Room 12 Guide (Bank Vault, Dial & Escape)

Shred the Secrets Room 12 guide: the ~52-document room, the $5,000,000 goal bar, the bank vault behind the paper stacks and its 4-turn dial — no fixed code.

Last updated: 2026-09-17

Quick answer

Room 12 is the final room of Shred the Secrets — the 12th floor added by the July 30 [ENDING 3] update, and the only thing between you and the Whistleblower ending is one bank vault. Per our rooms reference, the post-update run counts to twelve (the HUD reads "ROOM 12/12"), the new rooms pack around 52 documents into their paper towers, and they play for money goals as high as $5,000,000 per room. Room 12 hides the vault behind its paper stacks — the game itself announces "the conveniently placed bank vault door seems like it can be opened" — and opening it ends the run: the Whistleblower (Ending 3) badge (official description "Complete Ending 3." — a 4.3% earn rate with 26,859 players awarded in our badge database snapshot, checked 2026-08-18), the boss's whiteboard to-do list, and the OVERVIEW - ENDING 3 close (this recording: escaped in 01:13:00 with 252 paperclips banked). Came for the vault answer? The dial takes four turns and there is no fixed code — the room's orange notes give each turn's order (number) and direction (arrow). The full step-by-step vault walkthrough stays on our Ending 3 guide; this page covers the room itself, frame by frame. The complete 12-room route: full walkthrough. The other routes: Ending 1, Ending 2 and the endings hub.

How Room 12 plays out

  1. 1

Enter the last floor. Since the July 30 [ENDING 3] update a full run spans 12 rooms, and the counter in the top right reads ROOM 12/12 in this one (rooms reference). The floor opens with the usual reset — 0 of ~52 documents, a fresh $5,000,000 goal bar over your head, upgrade stations to re-buy — and a prompt worth taking: "Golden Shredder: hold interact on any shredder to install it there."

  2. 2

Shred the ~52-document quota. The loop does not change — grab stacks, feed the shredders, vacuum the scraps — but the scale does: per our rooms reference, the post-update rooms hold around 52 documents each with goals as high as $5,000,000. Re-buy your upgrades at the start of the floor; the Golden Shredder (2x cash, six stacks, no cranking) is what keeps the pace realistic.

  3. 3

Find the bank vault behind the paper. The back of the room hides a full-size bank vault door, and the game announces it the moment you get close: "the conveniently placed bank vault door seems like it can be opened." Clear the paper towers in front of it — the same grab-and-shred work as everywhere else — until the wheel is reachable.

  4. 4

Start the dial minigame. Interact with the wheel and the minigame HUD appears: TURN 1/4 counting up to TURN 4/4, with left/right arrow buttons under the wheel and SPACE to give up if you lose count — backing out restarts the attempt, it does not cost you the vault.

  5. 5

Read the notes — the combination is written in the room. Orange notes stuck around Room 12 encode the combination: each number is the order of a turn, and its arrow is the direction to turn. There is no fixed code: the combination changes every run (one recorded run read "one right, two left, 4 left" — yours will differ).

  6. 6

Wrong turns bounce, they do not punish. Enter a turn that contradicts the notes and the game answers with "Nothing. The lock doesn't budge." or "The handle won't give. Not this time." — the dial stays open and you can try again. The step-by-step order of operations for reading your own notes stays on the Ending 3 guide.

  7. 7

The vault opens into the payoff. As the door swings, the badge toast lands; inside sit walls of PO-box-style deposit drawers and mountains of cash — the fortune Mesa Corp shreds documents to protect. Turn to the whiteboard: "TAKE CARE OF THE ROGUE SCIENTIST / WASTE MORE PAPER / WASTE EVEN MORE PAPER! / FIGURE OUT HOW TO CONTROL THE WEIRD PEOPLE IN SUITS / THE SUIT PEOPLE SCARE ME / INSTRUCT ALL EMPLOYEES TO NOT GO INTO THE NEXT ROOM."

  8. 8

Close on OVERVIEW - ENDING 3. The results screen logs the escape — this recording finished Escaped in 01:13:00 with 4,330 shredded paper and 252 paperclips banked. Ending 3 complete. The full room-by-room route lives on the Ending 3 guide; the run from Room 1 is in the full walkthrough.

The dial, the notes and what stays unverified

The dial itself is gentle: four turns, numbered TURN 1/4 through TURN 4/4, left/right arrow buttons, and SPACE backs out at any time. The combination is not a puzzle to memorize — it is written in the room. Orange notes stuck around Room 12 encode each turn as a number (its order) plus an arrow (its direction), and there is no fixed code: the combination changes every run, which two August 2026 recordings confirm by showing different combinations — one reads "one right, two left, 4 left". Wrong turns are safe: the game answers "Nothing. The lock doesn't budge." or "The handle won't give. Not this time." and the dial stays open. The full answer walkthrough — how to read your own notes turn by turn — stays canonical on our Ending 3 guide; this page deliberately does not re-run it. What stays UNKNOWN: exactly how many notes each room scatters (recordings show at least three, read from different walls), whether the notes' positions shuffle between runs alongside the combination, and whether the vault can be opened before the room's document quota is cleared — no recording we checked tries it.

Sources & data notes

Every fact on this page comes from repository data or from the frames themselves. The primary recording is Mediastic, Shred the Secrets: Ending 3 + New Rooms! (Roblox) (uploaded 2026-08-01; every caption on this page carries its source timestamp): a full 12-room run that supplied this page's frames at t=433 (goal bar), t=440 (ROOM 12/12 + vault behind paper), t=450 (the "conveniently placed bank vault door" line), t=491 (TURN 4/4), t=496 ("Nothing. The lock doesn't budge."), t=498 (vault close-up), t=530 (vault opening), t=562 (whiteboard) and t=575 (OVERVIEW - ENDING 3). The recording was made on the current 12-room build but before the August 6 [SAVING] update, so treat cosmetic differences accordingly. The code-note close-up and the mobile TURN 1/4 dial view come from Reiinnn, AKU MENJELAJAHI RUANGAN KE 9 SAMPAI 12 DI MAP SHRED THE SECRETS! at t=267 (code note) and t=256 (dial, mobile UI) — a post-[SAVING] rooms-9-12 recording (2026-08-12) whose auto-translated commentary reads the wall notes aloud ("one right, two left, 4 left") and confirms the combination differs per run. Candidates scoped for this page were watched and dropped as frame sources: BigB (UfYPmnE0r0M, 2026-08-18) turns out to be a multiplayer run that takes Ending 1 at Room 5 — no rooms 9-12 at all; K_doctor (tpq0j2aYaWQ, 2026-08-11) is a slow Spanish run that also ends at the Ending 1 grocery list; Azrilich (3OGL3HMsAp4, 2026-08-02) likewise stops at Ending 1. ItsChalls's guide video (tKKXikxVB9k) carries burned subtitles and serves as a fact source only. Frame seconds were chosen so that none collide with the seconds /the-cake-is-a-lie, /whistleblower, /guides/ending-3 and /guides/walkthrough already take from the same Mediastic upload. Badge stats (4.3% earn rate, 26,859 awarded) come from the Roblox badges API snapshot in our badge database, checked 2026-08-18. Still UNKNOWN: how many code notes each Room 12 scatters and whether their positions shuffle between runs; whether the vault can be opened before the room is cleared; and what filling the $5,000,000 bar completely does — the recorded run escaped with it far from full.
